yip yip! I won't be around a computer much this weekend, so I am posting this now instead of Sunday, for which I'd been saving it. Enjoy!

love
In a dream, I walked with you.
It was a place we'd been, or at least my mind's ideal.
I kept a bit behind you, calm, watching you move.
You were preoccupied by other things
as you browsed and looked around the little shops;
I was more interested in the broad and winding lake,
its banks so thickly edged with water lilies, lotus all in bloom.
Looking for fish and birds
Wondering how deep it was, in the middle. What else was there.
There were mountains in the distance.
It was a bright day. You wore
a dress of silver silk
which should have been so wrong for how casual we were,
this half-wild place, the jungle on the other side.
I was myself in jeans.
But you shone in it, you moved so easily
and it was right;
you shone
and looked back at me once.
Your smile was mild, and all was well.

It's great to hear from you again; I've missed you. Call me when you can.
