I got some really lovely shots of my pack, Nikolai and one of Josephine the tarantula.

I don't have any desire to touch this little guy, found under some damp wood:

Rogue dashed through SUCH a mud puddle. Groan! She'd been relatively clean before that!

Look at her, so proud of herself!

The solution to a filth-encrusted Rogue! This trough is spring-fed and feeds a stream, so tossing the dog in it won't sully it for long.

Coba's just going to need bathing and grooming now. He sure has fun getting filthy, though. YAY DIRT!

Now, for the house dinosaur. Here he is enjoying some asparagus in the bedroom:

Nikolai seems to photograph more easily in the lighting of my house than the little birds...perhaps because the flash doesn't make his plumage look nearly as bad, and his colors seem truer without it, too. He also has these great facial expressions.
Photobucket

Here he is taking apart an old stand I made for the little birds. When he's done, I want to make a new one on the same base.

This is my favorite of the set:

Jez is aging well, but she is definitely aging.

And a parting shot of fuzzy wuzzy Josephine:

I wonder if asparagus makes bird poo smell funny.

See, you present me with animalia and these are the sort of random thoughts I think.

ha! You know, I absently wondered the same thing, but I didn't notice anything different. Thankfully, birds are much less smellier than mammals!

Happy, lovely pack - your pics always make my day :) Coba's fluff seems to work very well for bringing home mementos from the hike...

Ha, it' true---he is very good at bringing the outdoors in. Gives me an opportunity to practice my grooming skills, right...?

The happy excited fluff of the parrot! Adorable.

Where is it can you let Jez run free? She's gorgeous.

That parrot is cuter than cute when he is all happy and excited! Thankfully, chewing on wooden things seems to entertain him, because I have a good supply of that kind of thing.

I let Jez loose in the woods and on the beach when I am pretty certain that there are no other people or dogs anywhere near. Even then, when she is off leash, she is the primary thing on my mind, and I watch her like a hawk.

You get into that habit, and end up with wonderful shots! I find that several years later, you cannot have enough shots of pets, kids and other beloveds, or yourself.

Great pics! I love Rogue's proud, "Look! I'm nice and cool nao!" Mud-puppy!

Oh, and those redwood twigs: agh! They're as bad as those burrs because they're almost as hard to get out of floofy dogs and redwood bits are EVERYWHERE up north!

Love pics of Jez. Makes me happy and sad at once.

Oh man, was Rogue ever proud of that mud...X_X

There are some murderous burrs that grow at the river where I ride my horse. Sometimes, a hapless dog will blunder into them, and they are just awful. Redwood duff is a pain, but it's usually not too hard to pull out. Mind you, I have a lot of practice!

Jez is a lovely creature, even in her golden years. I know what you mean about the happy and the sad. I miss my wolfpack of three so terribly, sometimes. This is a good pack I have now, the ideal pack for me at this time in my life; I chose them carefully, I adore them, and they are who I want. But they are not Fen and Pryde and Jez, the community, energy and power that was, and I will always miss my old pack. Sometimes, I still run with them in dreams.
