Furcon, art, and Dogs Playing Poker...

So for the first time in...well, quite a while, actually, I'm going to be showing at FurCon. yay! I know I've signed up for the past two anthrocons and then procrastinated at the last minute because I couldn't get art done in time...forgetting the time it takes to get a show's worth of matted art together in the face of things like bar exams. :P
But I'm doing it this year for absolute sure, and I have more than half of the inked art to show for it. My deadline to self is to have the lot colored by the end of December and matted before the con in January. Finished inking 3 pics for the gen show last night, yay me, and most of the adult stuff is done also.
So when I informed my office of taking those days off in January, I ended up sort of explaining what it was I'd be doing. My colleague's response to my brief sketch of what 'furry' was (yeah, I know, dangerous ground...) was, "oh, like dogs playing poker?" And my response, appropriately poker-faced was, "yes, exactly."
And it occurred to me...I've always gotten a little thrill of guilty pleasure from those. And they *are* furry.
So, I'm issuing a challenge to all of you furry artists out there in my friends list...yes, you do know who you are. I have decided that I am going to create at least one fully detailed dogs playing poker pic. My challenge to you lot is to do the same! There's no deadline on this and I don't know what we will eventually do with them...a CD-Rom? A portfolio? A calendar to sell at next furcon? I really am awful at the whole marketing of art thing.
But I want a big bunch of dogs playing poker pics. I mean, we're artists of fur. And the idea is incredibly silly. I think it could be a lot of fun. Think of all the permutations we could do! Anyone game? And feel free to issue this challenge to all your friends, just make sure that I get told of any pics or intentions because I want to see them! Perhaps I can just arrange for a central website to archive all of them. Yeah, that's it.
