Raising Ducks in the House

It is a joyous day too long coming when
houseducks are old enough to move outside.
Yet I always welcome their joyfulness, the tender webs.

Somewhere there exists a photo of very young me sitting in a bathtub with some ducks. I haven't actually bathed with ducks since I was small (they are just a little bit too messy...) but I do like to take them out in the yard and watch them splash around in a dog bowl full of water. Right now they are young enough that drowning is still possible (and they are runners, which makes them poor swimmers by duck standards), although every day they get blessedly closer to being big enough to live outside with the other poultry.
