FurCon art...
Jan. 18th, 2005 10:52 amWell, I got as far this morning as getting all dressed and in my car, but decided half way to work that there was just no way it was going to fly. So here I am, home all sick. (yes, yes, sympathy, I fully expect sympathy from all you lovely people...) Although the coup de'gras was probably going on a short tandem ride with Chris yesterday, in the cold and on 4 1/2 hours of sleep. Oh well, serves me right, but I regret none of it.
Nonetheless, I remain completely in the post-con happy. I'm listening to Heather Alexander's new album and realizing that I have not yet raved about her 4 wonderful FC performances, for which I am remiss, because they so rocked. Her album is not as good, which is typical, though it is worth having just for 'Ichabod Crane'...which makes my toes curl. I'll confess I like her a lot better acoustic than with her new band, but it's still good.
I also saw Cyndi McQuillian and Dr. Jane for the first time in years. They continue to be wonderful, hilarious and warm, and sung such perennial faves as When Brontosaurs Fall in Love, Bella Meow and Gilda and the Dragon. I simply don't get why the con put them (or anything for that matter) up against the masquerade, though...the attendence, as you can imagine, was low. I'm grumpy about missing the masquerade, but I think I saw most of the suits after.
And given that I'm sitting here all cruddy, I've uploaded all of the show art and then some. Woohoo, I've used up all of my VCL daily upload allowance for the first time ever!!!!!

Most of the rest is behind the cut, and all the adult stuff is here:

I just got over being sick, but unfortunately I couldn't take sick days since it's the first week of the semester (bad impressions and all). I'm waiting for the campus epidemic as a result.

Re: yummy!!!
Date: 2005-01-19 03:20 pm (UTC)Oh yeah, the music is really good at FC. Heather...just yow. And she wrote a song for us. =) ("Animals all the Same"). Cynthia and Jane used to attend this con BayCon I go to every year, but they stopped a few years back...now I'm all happy they have started doing FC. =) They give such a fun performance, and perhaps because it was so small an audience (feh. Up against the masquerade, and everyone knows furcons have the best costume thing going...) it was very intimate and playful.
