I am recently back from BayCon, where I had lots of fun sharing a dealer's table with [livejournal.com profile] corpsefairy. The con has become drastically smaller since its apparent heyday some years ago---it was one of the highlights of my year for a long time, and this was my first time back in several years. Things have changed, but I still had a wonderful time. My table earnings were modest, but enough to justify spending the time and going to the con.

Still, it's so good to be home. I'm not a creature comfortable for long in heavily urbanized areas, even though the occasional visit and social fling can be a real treat. I spent the morning grooming and walking my dogs and cats (who place themselves between dog and brush when they are in the mood), and the afternoon visiting the horses. We'd all missed each other, and needed to reconnect. It was a good day.

I was hanging out on the deck and the cute just happened all around me.

Sky eye. Bliss Like Chaos is so pretty when he's brushed out!

Tiger is a gorgeous vaguely feline-shaped house imp, but he is not easy to photograph---when he's awake, he's often moving enough that I get blurry pics, or he's asleep. I followed him around long enough this time to capture a bit of his lovely fur glitter as well as his distinct Bengal skull shape.

Pile of silly dogs

How do you even stretch like that?

My dear, beautiful Rogue.

Queen Rogue is queen of all she surveys.

Tiger approves of and will be keeping this wolfhound, thank you.

What's better than a sunbeam and a soft snout to share it with?

You can really see how much of a pup she still is in this shot.

Coba is a decorative item.
Photobucket

My pack, right now.

On to ponies! Equinox, now three, has lost the last of his flat baby back...his withers, legs and topline are mature, he's nice and stout, and he would really like to do something with his life other than decorate a pasture. I think that it is officially time to start the young fellow's groundwork. I hope to be riding him by fall.

The brattiest colt ever has grown into a kind, curious little gelding. I think he's going to be fun to work with, and will eventually be a sweet riding horse.
Photobucket

I tried to sneak up on Dancer before he got to the fence, so I could get a shot of something other than his nose in my lens. He saw me first and came galloping, but I did get one. Awww, spotty pony love.

Photobucket

Post ride horseyawn! Dancer yawns expressively and has since he was a little foal.
Photobucket

Dancer and Equinox reconnect with each other after Dancer and I returned from the ride (which was beautiful).
Photobucket

So dear.
Photobucket

What are you looking at/wanna join?

These are my elegant, dignified horses.

And a bonus shot from last week, featuring Kyn-pack...group stays for the win!

Very cute pics! And very glad that we got to see you there, even if looking at your pics for so long had me convinced that we'd somehow met before this past weekend. :) We'll have to get over to your neck of the woods sometime and hang out with you and Kyn and doggles!

DOGGIES! :D
Tropical Island Coba is too cute. :)
Tiger is quite a special cat. He seems more ocelot or serval than cat.

I had fun with Tropical Coba.
Tiger is pretty cool! He's a bengal, so a hybrid between domestic cats and Felis bengalensis; his great-grandfather was an Asiatic leopard cat tom, making him actually pretty close to the foundation cats. He doesn't have as extreme rosetting as some of them, but you can really tell that he's something other than housecat.

hugs! Yeah, we met at Baycon---hanging out and drawing together was always so fun. I think that is what I miss the most about pre-internet-boom furry; it used to be mostly about artists hanging out and drawing together. I realize that the sheer number of people has to change its nature, but we had tons of fun at con back in the day.

I'm putting in for my FC table on Monday; I still have a lot of fun with it. We should hang out---East bay is close enough that I sometimes visit, but usually have a very full schedule, and too far to visit more frequently. But if you're ever up in North Bay, let me know!!!!
