Chris has been gone taking his 8th grade students on a field trip to Yosemite all week and I *miss him* and he's coming home tonight!! The house has been rather empty and lonely without him, but, creatively, I got a lot done. OK, so furry artists, and you know who you are. Has anyone ever asked you to draw something *weirder* than this herm, nine-tailed, 10-breasted, shapeshifting, *beheadable* kitsunetaur?!? And if so do I *even* want to know?!?!

Having just read Princess Alexandria's very beautiful and very morbid X-men fanfic, 'Not Myself' I was hit spontaniously with the urge to illustrate it last night whilst working through a pile of commissions. So I did. I rarely draw humans, but this sort of worked, I thought, and got my creative juices going otherwise. It is here:

writing projects: the Phoenix Gate story "Burn Down" has been sent to the Gathering contest, and good riddance. I have 2 in progress that I'm not telling anyone about but to say, they're in progress, and yes I *am* going to finish. And then I may head into another big project, an idea for a Gargoyles AU that I've been telling to go away for a long time, because if I do it it will be huge and require research. It hasn't left. I really want to read it, so I may have to write it...since that's how these things work for me. Ah, well. Much work, much fun.

It is raining! And I love the sweet spring rain...

I can actually sort of understand the appeal of a detachable head. It's just that with all the other interesting attributes of this character, the decapitation was just...the coup de gras.

I may need to play with decapitation more. ;)

Pretty pictures!!! The weird one reminds me of various Japanese fables/myth beasts all melded together -- the detachable head thing I know of, the multi tailed fox part I know... the 10 breasts I don't, but maybe it's just breast fetish *^_^*

Considering how I lose my keys and cel phone, not to mention various remotes, I'm glad my head is firmly attached *frantic nods*

Hmmm...the 9-tailed thing I knew about (or sometimes just one extra tail.) I didn't know the beheading thing was actually in the myths...I am lamentably behind on my Japanese mythology. Since this char *is* a kitsune, her headlessness makes more sense now. *still*. Mental note to self: research Japanese folklore re headless foxes. ;)

I'm working on my own take on beheading now. And with Opal's trade, can we just call it a headless series? ;D Pleasant stuff for spring...

...and, kitty, *I* think we're compatible. *flirty wink, slow wag, wag*. But it list you twice 'cos you filled it out twice. You can fix it if you want.

I'll admit it, it broadened my horizons. Doing the piece was fun, but that initial moment of shock when I read the desc...! *heh*
I need a T-shirt or cap, I think, that says "yes, I'll draw headless foxes" in big red letters. ;) This is becoming a series.
