Trader Joe's...

last night, among other things, I did me shopping at Trader Joe's. For those of you unlucky enough not to have one locally, the best grocery store *evah*. Shopping there is always hilarious. Why? Well, I live out in the country, I don't like driving into town, and I HATE shopping. Most of what we get at TJ's is dry goods or frozen: it keeps. Plus, my Chris is a bicycle racer and eats more than the horse. Put all of this together and you get the nice little Jackel shopping game: how far can we go between trips to the store? My record is, I think, two and a half months, but we're now trying for three. By the time I've collected my haul, I can barely control the shopping cart and I'm getting incredulous looks (and sometimes even snide comments) from other shoppers. The checkers visibly pale. And I am amused.

But now the cupboards are all full of delicious TJS food and I won't have to do anything but pick up weekly produce for...let's hope...three months! yipyip!

Generally I go to the one on Santa Rosa Ave. (so I can hit Border's and the pet store at the same time) but this time I went to the one by Kaiser. the one on SR Ave has way more selection in the shampoo and candle department!!!
