Gathering, woohoo!

I am excited. Leaving on a jet plane to las Vegas for the Gathering of the Gargoyles tomorrow morning...yikes, really early.
The con should be fun. Being in the desert at the end of July should be...different. And hot. Las Vegas should be...interesting. (although as my brother pointed out, if you don't drink and you don't gamble, why are you going to Vegas??) Seeing so many of my wonderful friends, including roomies MooncatX, Allaine and Alexandria, should be a blast!
I am experiencing a little bit of airplane nerves and reluctance, but I will take it on faith that the plane won't crash. Or at any rate I really hope not. *shudders*. I should maybe wait to finish reading the book I'm working on, 'The Pagan Book of Living and Dying' by Starhawk, until I am back. It is an incredibly wonderful book but I probably don't need to be focusing on death when I'm about to step onto a plane, when I seem to be developing a strong aversion to them.
This may sound silly and obvious, but flying really makes me feel...ungrounded.
Still, I am SO EXCITED OMG!!!!!!!!!! about the Gathering. *bounce!!!!!!!!!!*
So, I will be back on Monday, hopefully with a con report and general amusement about Jackel loose in Vegas. Wish me luck, all!

CLEAN | COMPLEX | LIGHT Your humor has an intellectual, even conceptual slant to it. You're not pretentious, but neither are you into what some would call 'low humor'. You'd laugh at a good dirty joke, but you definitely prefer something clever to something moist. You probably like well-thought-out pranks and/or spoofs and it's highly likely you've tried one of these things yourself. In a lot of ways, yours is the most entertaining type of humor. Date: 2005-07-28 05:49 pm (UTC)Uummm..... about your nerves, I'm sure you've heard this a million times over, but flying is safer than driving. It scared me right at first too because I got a window seat with a full view of the wing.... and seeing it shiver like it was wet in a snow storm was... uuhh... unnerving.
I have a friend that does the maintainence on airplanes and when I asked about that, he just shrugged and asked what the problem was. "You mean that's normal?!" He just nodded and shrugged again. I get nervous if I can SEE the wings shaking, but that aside, feeling that rush of take off and even turning, it's really cool. I LIKE flying.... 'cept for the noise. Cats dun like loud places. >x.x<
It's sort of like a really long, really lame @$$ rollercoaster... cool for the first two minutes... and then boring for the next five hours.
Read a book, listen to music, go to sleep.... it'll pass the time faster.
Hope you have fun, and we wanna hear ALL about it when you get back! ^-^
Humor? You're evil too?

Letting your ill-tempered rottie loose on a guy who's just trying to be friendly
Funny evil:
Letting your pack of overly friendly huskies loose on a guy who's just trying to be friendly so they can drown him in drool
You's evil.
....but funny. >^-^<
