I love going to the beach in winter. It's beautiful and empty, save for the birds, and what's a little rain and wind for that?

Rained on the way there, but it was sunny for awhile:

Corvids are awesome, and this pair flew very close. Are these crows or ravens, birders out there?

These were taken maybe 1/2 hour after the first ones:

Fenris is a happy girl, but she's really starting to show her age. She was 12 in October.

Yes, one of my wolves is a sheltie.

CUTE DOGGIES. Huge, in a couple cases, but cuuuuute.

Also, those would be ravens. Portland's lousy with 'em. My cat Frankenstein took one down once, brought it in still alive. You never saw a more embarrassed-looking bird.

Thanks for the info. Also, Frankenstein got a *raven*???? I think that trumps Tiger's full grown rat.

And yes, my wuffs are not small. ;) These pics are good Pryde-size-indicators.

Ravens is correct. Main things to note-- ravens have wedge-shaped tails rather than flat-ended one, and ravens are usually seen alone or in pairs, whereas crows are usually found in a flock.

Wonderful. I love the photo shoots. XD I wish we could go to the beach more often. It's only a couple hours away, but we never seem to have ... time.

I always love your dog pictures. And I wish I could go to the beach... but it's so darn cold, and wet up here. I seriously shoulda gotten down to Santa Cruz earlier in my trip.

Your pictures are so wonderful, I love the nature and all the doggysmiles. How do you find such awesome places to take your dogs? No one seems to ever be there, and they seem to be able to roam around freely - (I'm envious, if you can't tell..!)
