Jackel returns...
Aug. 3rd, 2006 04:04 pmI am back from my journey, and boy, long strange trip, yep. It was a serious and wonderous journey on the physical, psychological and spiritual planes, though also exhausting. Chris, Pryde, Rogue and I had a lot of fun.
We didn't do so well on the tandem stage race, alas, partly because I am not quite as fit (almost...)as I need to be for such an endeavour, partly because we had mechanical issues with the bike, partly from matters completely beyond anyone's control. We didn't even do the last/4th race, although since it was record heat in Eugene, Oregon (bleagh!!!!!!!!!! I am NOT a hot-weather jackal, but one who prefers to cool her paws in a river until it's over...) But we had a whole lot of fun.
Alas, not nearly as many postable pictures came out of this trip as I would have expected, but there are some. It's good to be back and I've missed you.
Other stuff: resuced a baby Stellar's Jay and took her to the bird rescue center..."awwwww corvid" pics forthcoming! Still job hunting, but got some good leads. Reading Laurell K Hamilton's latest, and not only YUM, HOT but this one also has a plot! :D Expect more posts on these topics later.
